Salt spray testing is an accelerated,
standardized test used to check the
corrosion
resistance of coated or uncoated samples.
The samples are placed in a controlled corrosive
environment where the appearance of corrosion products
is evaluated after a period of time. Test
durations range from 24 to 2000 hours, depending on the
corrosion resistance of the samples and the type of
test.
